| Basic Mountain Travel and Rescue Course description |
The National Ski Patrol Mountain Travel and Rescue course has been designed to train the backcountry traveler in winter survival and travel skills including navigation, emergency shelters, clothing, equipment, and search and rescue techniques.
There are three evening classes and a day long field trip. Everything covered in the evening classes is practiced in the field.

Emphasis is on personal self-sufficiency for all winter backcountry travelers. While the course contents are of a serious nature, a healthy dose of fun has become traditional in all Bryan Mountain classes. You will also meet people interested in outdoor winter recreation.
Students should possess some nordic skiing or snowshoeing ability. Those unsure of their ability should contact a course coordinator listed above.
Students should provide their own personal equipment and food for field days. The instructors will provide additional specialized equipment for each course. Equipment will be discussed prior to each field trip.
Early registration is encouraged, as course sizes are limited.

Directions to the Boulder Colorado Mountain Club Clubroom

Unit N, Boulder, CO 80305. The Boulder CMC Clubroom is located in the Table Mesa
Shopping Center at the southwest corner of Broadway and Table Mesa Drive in south Boulder.
The Clubroom is around the corner to the west of Neptune Mountaineering and is on the same level
as Neptune's (i.e., it is on the upper level).
